When I knew I was going to London I emailed just a couple of food bloggers to say that, if they had the time, I'd love to meet them. I thought we'd gather at a Pub or maybe a quiet meal out. I never would have suspected a food bloggers gathering to rival anything I had ever seen or been part of.
An all day affair of "Cocina Mexicana." The second-to-last to arrive, the cooking and prepping was already in full swing!
Read the whole account here.
Now I have the photos. Please don't judge me on them-- they are indeed snapshots. Of the most basic kind. I tried to get the whole kitchen, some of the prep, and what the set tables looked like. We made overwhelming amounts of food and all sat down when famished. I could eat that meal four more times over and experience different tastes, we made so many dishes!
Bravo again to Johanna for hosting, having the idea and keeping us all on track when we
attempted to dawdle or relax. Bravo Xochitl and Iliana for telling us home culinary stories and adding doses of passion and dashes of love to every bowl, dish, pot and squeeze of lime. Bravo to all of us humble food bloggers-- many of whom had never
been
anywhere near Mexico, Mexican food, or Mexican ingredients!
We came, we prepped, we smelled, we tasted, we laughed, we taught, we
learned, we savored, we sauteed, we shaped, we stirred, we braised, we roasted, we seasoned, we peeled, we juiced, we chopped,
diced, and sliced, we drank, we were warmed and welcomed, introduced and invited back.

Great "action shots" that capture the spirit of the day! And what a particularly delectable shot of the flan! We'll have to arrange another day like that - and of course you'll have to come over for it ;-)
