NaBloPoMo is over today.

phew! NaBloPoMo is over. I have posted every single day. insane.
and now something else is about to happen in my life.
I started this year working for Apple.Img_8169
then Poulet.
next... well I'll tell you about it soon enough.

I'm going to take a little break in between. go to the farm. watch a lot of my favorite show, have some days away with the coffee drinker... we are thinking Pt. Reyes or Inverness... something special before I dive into the new kitchen.

posting every day has been a challenge. but extraordinarily rewarding. You all made it fun. all the comments, all the traveling around looking for new people to read, telling stories, listening to new voices, making the www even wider! look how many people ended up participating!

can we have a round of applause for those who gave content every day? those who gave recipes and critique and photos and silliness and snarkiness? good job one and all. and thank you Fussy for the challenge! finally a blogging thing I could understand and make happen. see you in December.

Does this mean no more Shuna at Poulet?

Shuna,

Quite appropriately, I initially read one of your sentences as "can we have a round of APPLESAUCE for those who gave content every day?" Heh heh.

I've been reading your blog since you were first linked via FoodDude's site, but never commented.

Thanks for a great month of postings. I love reading your posts, seeing your fabulous photos and feeling the passion you have for food.

You're my favorite pastry chef whose work I've only tasted through pictures. I love the yellow cake with chocolate frosting-there is a gelato shop here in Portland with that flavor.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your new adventure and trying more of your recipes.

Aw, my mother had a little home for years out in Inverness. Spent many a day, afternoon, evening and night out in the area. Sitting out on her pier on Tomales Bay watching the rays slide by lended a nice happy slice of day. It's a magical area as near as I can figure.

Biggles

My dear, I am so proud of you! Thirty days of posting has been quite the ordeal, hasn't it? And even though I'm facing a month until the deadline for my manuscript, I found that -- perversely -- my posts grew longer, with more recipes, as the month went on.

whew.

I'm always so happy when I see eggbeater (1 new) on my bloglines. Thank you for providing so much pleasure.

Shuna, I've often come to your daily posts this month before trying to conjure up my own. Thanks for the gorgeous writing and photos, and for the jumping off point for my own post last night.

Posts for a full month. It has been inspiring to visit your site and read each post. The son of a friend was thinking about a career in culinary arts about the time you wrote about gettng hands on experience by volunteering time instead of shelling out so much money for a culinary academy. I passed your thoughts on and it really helped with the decision process. Hope you enjoy your break. Anywhere by the ocean is so enthralling. Have you tried Bodega Bay? Bodega Head is really beautiful.

It's been fun, hasn't it? And insane. Totally insane.

I think I will stay away from the computer for most of December.

Congratulations on all the good things that have happened to you this month, and I hope you, too, enjoy your time away from the keyboard.

I love Bodega Bay, too. If you go there you simply have to try The Duck Club restaurant's chocolate cake. I think it's called "Mike's Mom's Chocolate Cake." It's dark chocolate with a white/cream-colored frosting, probably some sort of eggless buttercream. Anyway, have it with milk, not that it's dry at all, milk is just highly complementary to the cake.

I am way impressed that you made it - I would love to give it a go next year!
