You just gotta love a seasonal magazine. We pick it from the tree when it's juicy ripe, no matter what the weatherman says.
Just in time for me to have turned in my fifth article-- the Spring 2007 issue, Edible San Francisco's Winter 2007 issue arrives! In this issue I have a piece titled Frozen Fruit, covering all of our winter fruits from persimmons to pomegranates, pears to pomelos, and quince to Meyer Lemons.
And for all of you who've asked me for the Glazed Meyer Lemon Cake I made at Poulet, the recipe can be found within these matte paper layers!
And hey-- I'm not the only author in this delicious local magazine. Check out Brett Emerson's insider scoop article on a his upcoming restaurant in Noe Valley, Ollalie. Or Bruce Cole's ode to a very famous egg. And of course there's words from a farmer himself, Mariquita's very own Andy Griffin recalls a romantic memory about mushrooms from long ago...
The magazine is FREE if you can find it...
If you're in Berkeley you can pick up a free copy of ESF at Poulet, or if you find yourself in Oakland, look for it at Bakesale Betty.
There's wide distribution in San Francisco, but if you can't be bothered to go on a hunt, why not just subscribe? Click on this link to get ESF delivered to your doorstep four times a year.
ESF's Winter 2007 marks my one full year, four articles. Spring 2006 ~ Rejoice in Rhubarb, Summer 2006 ~ The Royal Peach, Autumn 2006 ~ Bewitched by Walnuts.
And if you get a hold of a copy-- let us know what you think! All feedback encouraged and welcome!
