a new dessert on the way... pssssssst, it's a secret!
I have another bun in the oven.
shhhh it's a secret.
but I'll give you a hint.
sometimes you have to clear the air and be brave and get everything on the table to make way for inspiration. it's nervewracking and scary to say what you feel and make critical statements but
in order to learn to dance with another
you must take risks.
as with all my desserts there is familiarity and comfort with this one. think popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. think winterfruits. think strong flavors, cold icy creamy textures, and deep salty caramels.
by the end of today it should be complete. yes, it could be that I am jinxing it. but I have a feeling on this one. a hunch. a giddy happiness that has come out from under a house, dropped from the sky, and yet two strip-ed legs unfurl from beneath a crushed foundation.
from darkness, light.
and so the tide goes. the ocean follows the moon and the sky follow the ocean. relationships wax and they wane.
I become inconsolable when it appears that my inspiration has gone into hibernation. but sometimes it needs to lay low to gather strength. sometimes it needs to take a little vacation to push me to step out of my comfort and my failures and force me to come forth, come clean, and ask for the permission to start over.
one never knows when a dessert soul will come along and whisper in your ear. it's a mystery. and every dessert's trajectory is different. some take months to mature, some break water and are born in a matter of hours, and some float in limbo for years.
I have a good feeling about this one, though.

I've got good feelings about this dessert too. Let me know if you need a taste taster.

Word on the street is that it's the best thing anyone's seen from you yet! That's high praise considering some of the jewels I've had the pleasure of eating so far...
