Living in the East Bay means I can no longer take a short train ride down to the Ferry Plaza Farmer's market to get my weekly fix of Della Fattoria's unbelievable bread. Neither am I blocks away from Chad Robertson's crusty levain at Tartine, nor able to just pop into my old job, Citizen Cake, for Amy Brown's fantastic selection of breads made by her and her bodacious night crew.
Living where I am now, though, has me just a moment's walking distance from the 39 year old Cheeseboard Collective. Home of perhaps the best daily-changing whole wheat breads and an assortment of other scrumptious rolls and loaves, not to mention hundreds of cheeses!
Tuck that baguette under your arm or sit down with some toast and jam and go on over to read about Eggbeater's new local bakery adventures at KQED's food blog, Bay Area Bites...
Nice, I'll definitely have to visit The Cheeseboard Collective especially since it wass started by an Armenian couple!!

Wow, I didnt know you worked at citizen cake. I loved that place when I went years ago. Btw, do you have any really great maple recipes? My honey brought me home 2L's of Canadian grade 3 syrup. I'm dying to make something with it.
