when i got to the farm there was a note from patrick. he likes to remind me of what to feed the dogs and which part of the farm to keep an eye on, depending on the weather.
but in the note there was a curious sentence,
"Could you H2O the little people growing in the trailer (in the back by the GARDEN)?"
i had absolutely no idea what at all this could mean so i called him.
P: "Have you watered the children?"
S: "Sorry?"
P: "Did you get my note?"
S: "Oh yes, I meant to ask you what you meant."
P: "Have you seen the trailer in the back?"
S: "Yes."
P: "There are melon and cucumber starts in there and they need to be sprayed or else they'll die."
S: "Plant starts?"
P: "Yes. Why? What did I call them in my note?
S: " 'The Little People.' "
ahhh, farmers.
that is beautiful.

I love it! I've just started growing my own set of "little people", so I can relate. Actually, they're like babies, really, but little people sounds so whimsical. Thanks for sharing that story.

My girl is my first tomatoes, the girls are the salad shoots and the guys are all the herbs...The gnome is the lavender plant that refuses to grow...
Great story!
